I'm not sure what it was - the feel of the hardwood floor, probably the very pleasant smell - but something about this room took me back fifty years to my grandmothers antebellum house in South Carolina.  There was something old and fine about that house and that same sense abides here. I do not intend to analyze or explain it. I want only to experience it once again. I regain lost boyhood memories and make a few to leave until I am in this house or perhaps another like it, and the peaceful memories of our stay here return.

My first time in Alabama! I came here to lead a self-promotions workshop for artists through the Women's Business Center of So. Alabama. Had a great time with everyone. Enjoyed delicious seafood at the Blue Gill restaurant ( you must get the shrimp kabobs) and a Caesar salad with fried okra croutons! at Cafe 615. But the best was your breakfast: fresh yogurt & berries, delicious eggs I would never order BBQ chicken in my eggs and they couldn't have been tastier. I so enjoyed sitting and sipping wine after my exhausting workshop. The conversation was delightful.

The Interlude is decorated with  the most exquisite fabrics I have ever seen!   The combination is truly a decorative delight!

I have never come close to feeling like a princess until I  stayed in this room.   It has a fairy tale quality that I never thought I would find on a  trip.  You should both be very proud of your efforts  on this beautiful home. It is breath taking (and the AC is doing well for the summertime.)
